Thank you for following our adventures in Jamaica.

This is an amazing opportunity for us to work with a wonderful community organization called Youth Crime Watch http://www.ycwa.org/world/jamaica/index.html which is based at the University of West Indies in Mona, Jamaica.

This trip was made possible by a grant through fundforteachers.org. Thank you for this amazing opportunity to experience, learn and grow as learners and as teachers.

This blog is our chance to share our experiences with you.

We welcome your feedback, questions, support and warm wishes.

Kingston, Jamaica

On August 7th, Everton and I will begin our journey through Kington, Jamaica.

While in Kingston, we will work with Youth Crime Watch, an organization that works with the youth of Kingston, to help them to leave the world of gangs and violence to become independent empowered and self-sufficient entreprenuers.

As two teachers from NYC, we have seen what gangs can do to our youth. We have also seen the tremendous impact of an education, of self-empowerment, and of leadership in the community.

We hope to gain a great deal from our time in Kingston.

This is something that we have been dreaming about for years!

Stay tuned...
